Proven Mindset Tools Can Help Keep You Focused

January 10, 2019

Whether you are a seasoned entrepreneur or just getting started, having the proper mindset is an integral part of your overall success. And since entrepreneurs are people just like anyone else, it’s not uncommon for things like fear, uncertainty, and doubt to creep in and negatively affect their productivity. That’s why implementing proven mindset tools can help to keep you focused, feeling positive, and on the right track.

Visualization

Most successful entrepreneurs spend time each day visualizing the result of all their hard work, and it’s an effective tool to maintain a positive mindset. The keys are to envision what your life will be like once you have accomplished your goals, and to see it happening out of your own eyes as if it’s really happening to you. Many people will watch themselves in their minds like on a movie screen, but getting right inside your own body and feeling it all happen will produce a far greater effect.

Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations refer to positive statements that are repeated with the thought of them imprinting on your subconscious mind and becoming a reality. There are hundreds of affirmations you can use, or you can make up your own. Typically, they should describe the reality you want to have or a goal you want to achieve. Many affirmations deal with your current limiting beliefs about yourself or your situation.

Things like “I deserve to be rich” or “Money flows to me easily and freely” or “I have 100 clients in 10 different countries” are examples that could be effective depending on your specific situation. It’s also a good idea to bring in as much emotion as possible during your affirmations and really “feel” them rather than just repeating an empty sentence.

Positive Thinking Exercises

Training your brain to think positive can be quite challenging for many business people but doing regular exercises for positive thinking is no different than exercising to build your body. Affirmations can be part of this, but some others include consciously omitting negative words from your vocabulary, sharing your positive thoughts with others, smiling more often, feeling gratitude about every situation in your life, and stopping every time you pass a mirror to say something positive to yourself.

Accountability Partners

For most entrepreneurs, getting started is never the issue. It is maintaining that forward momentum and staying positive about the outcome that’s challenging. Finding a coach or enlisting the help of an accountability partner can be powerful mindset tools that will keep you focused and positive.

Healthy Physical Habits

Keeping yourself physically healthy may not seem like a mindset tool, but your body and your mind are intrinsically connected, and if your body isn’t healthy, it’s going to be a challenge to reach your business goals. It’s important to move your body every day and to put life-giving nutritious foods into your body on a regular basis. Joining a gym, using a rebounder, doing yoga, or even daily walks can all make a big difference.

Effective Sleep Routine

Many entrepreneurs regularly trade sleep for business progress, and eventually, most get worn down, and their productivity starts to decrease. You may not need 8 or 9 hours of sleep every day to function at an optimal level, but take the time to develop an effective sleep routine, so the sleep you do get is restful.
